The entire cast of The Young and the Restless shone brightly this week, thanks to two very special events, which were Danny and Cricket's wedding reception and Thanksgiving. Performer after performer gave heartfelt congratulations and holiday wishes; therefore, Soap Central is breaking tradition a bit with its performer feature and giving kudos to the entire cast.

Patty Weaver's Gina proved she's a great sister by honoring her brother, Danny (Michael Damian), and Cricket (Lauralee Bell) on their wedding day. She couldn't help but point out that someone kept them from being together, "a certain shrew who will go nameless," which prompted Susan Walters' Diane to quip, "Rhymes with 'Schmyllis," referring to Phyllis, who broke the duo up over 30 years ago!
Tricia Cast's Nina warmly recalled Danny and Cricket giving her the Eliza Doolittle treatment so that she could fit into Philip's (Thom Bierdz) role. "Like, Gina, I figured out right away that you two were meant to be together," Nina shared.
Then, the officiator of the wedding, Michael Baldwin, played by Christian LeBlanc, made a heartfelt speech, thanking both his wife, Lauren, and the bride, Christine, for helping him turn his life around!
Then, it was Tracey Bregman's Lauren's turn, who recalled witnessing the duo's love grow and grow! Michael Graziadei's Daniel, the best man, toasted from the heart, pointing out how his dad navigated fame and how he witnessed his father's generosity. Christine's stepson lavished praise on the bride, too, ironically, just as his mother, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), entered the club.
Phyllis insisted on making her own toast to the bride and the groom, promising not to do anything weird. "It's too late," quipped Michael in a tone that was half-joking and half-serious. Once she had the bride's blessing to make her toast, Phyllis tearfully agreed that Daniel was right -- she'd never seen Danny this happy, "as much as it kills me." Phyllis also toasted to Christine's tenacity!
Giving thanks

Many characters who weren't at the wedding were featured later in the week for the show's Thanksgiving episode. Highlight performances included Courtney Hope as Sally displayed trepidation over spending a holiday with Billy's (Jason Thompson) family. Valerie Pettiford showed Amy's grace by not objecting to Cane (Billy Flynn) staying at Crimson Lights to help out with the charity event organized by Kate Linder's Esther.
Redding Munsell's Harrison appeared to have stepped out of a Charles Dickens novel as he politely asked Claire (Hayley Erin) to stick around. "Will you stay, please?" he requested. "It really is the best part -- saying what you're thankful for. That's what makes it Thanksgiving!"
Tiny Tim (well, a Tiny Tim who's an heir!) couldn't have done it better! There were numerous other terrific performances throughout the week. Kudos to the cast of The Young and the Restless for bringing sentiment and joy throughout this week of celebration.
