The Young and the Restless characters Victoria and Nate resumed their friendship in 20205. He was there for her after Cole died, and Nate came to the new Newman ranch for Thanksgiving. Now, fans of the couple have reason to hope that the duo's romance might have new hope!
The Young and the Restless, twist of Vate
Head writer and co-executive producer Josh Griffith told TV Insider that 2026 might bring a future for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). “We’ll see some romance back between Victoria and Nate," Griffith said. "They’re going to see if they want to try again after Victor kind of blew that whole thing up.”
Viewers saw Nate be there for Victoria after Cole (J. Eddie Peck) died from Legionnaires' disease last summer, when most of Vicki's family was abroad in Nice, France, at Cane Ashby's (Billy Flynn) estate. Poor Vicki was alone except for her and Cole's daughter, Claire (Hayley Erin). Ironically, Claire had been stolen from the same hospital when she was a newborn by her evil Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk).
Cole and Vicki had already split by the time Claire (originally called Eve) was stolen from the family. Ironically, learning she was alive helped bring Vicki and Cole back together. Their happiness was short-lived. After Nate supported Vicki during this ordeal, the two slowly renewed their friendship.
The single life
It may be difficult to believe that a good-looking, former doctor, businessman like Nate is single. He was in a relationship with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), and he appreciated how good Audra was to family friend Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford) when she was going through a health ordeal.
Alas, Nate and Audra parted ways after she confessed to him that, while at Cane's estate, she attempted to seduce Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) away from Claire, Victor's (Eric Braeden) granddaughter. The mogul didn't think that Kyle was right for Claire. Audra agreed to split them up if Victor funded her company, Vibrante.
Not only did Audra fail (Kyle was on to her), but Victor pulled out of the business deal, leaving Audra without any options. Audra confessed all to Nate, and she begged for a second chance on more than one occasion. Alas, Nate couldn't bring himself to be intimate with someone so duplicitous.
Nate made peace with Victor at Thanksgiving, bringing him a bottle of his favorite alcohol as a gesture of friendship.
