In France, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Billy (Jason Thompson) squared off against each other after the Abbott patriarch discovered that his younger brother wanted to ally himself with Cane (Billy Flynn), AKA the enigmatic Aristotle Dumas. Billy felt that if he could make a go of it with Cane and try to get Chancellor Industries back, then Sally (Courtney Hope) could run Abbott Communications.

Jack made it clear to Billy that he could end up losing both opportunities if he weren't careful. On Friday's show, however, watch for Jack to make a sacrifice for Billy. What's the big change all about? Jack was willing to let Billy sink or swim all by himself, not that long ago. Now, he's going to help his brother.

Phyllis, it sure isn't you

Daniel (Michael Graziadei) bailed on joining Abbott Communications because he wasn't ready to commit to a new gig. Instead, he's dealing with Heather's (Vail Bloom) loss by learning how to play the guitar from Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), and he's developed a strong friendship with his teacher, too.

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), however, has been playing helicopter mom to Daniel. Once she's back in Genoa City, we can see Phyllis checking in on her son. If Phyllis thinks she's got a strong in with Cane and his empire, then she might want to try to get Daniel another gig. On Friday's show, watch for Daniel to be skeptical of Phyllis's plan. Will Phyllis risk her newfound rapport with Cane to help her son?

You've got to have friends

Tessa has been a bit lost since Mariah (Camryn Grimes) insisted upon a separation. The singer begged her wife to stay with her and promised that they could get past whatever occurred while Mariah was out of town. However, Mariah tearfully maintained that she had no other choice.

Tessa is due a break, and on Friday's episode, she may be getting one. Watch for Tessa to receive help from a new friend. Will this new friend be a true ally? Or does this new person have a tie to whatever went on with Mariah when she was out of town?
