The Butterfly Effect wasn't just the name of a movie starring Ashton Kutcher. Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby on The Young and the Restless, recently shared that it's a belief that made a significant impact on her life.
The Young and the Restless and the Butterfly Effect
"The Butterfly Effect" is a theory that a seemingly small, insignificant moment in a person's life can lead to sweeping changes and create a lasting impact. Ordway pointed out how a small moment in her life resulted in lifelong blessings.
"The Butterfly Effect is crazy," she posted, "[because] what if I hadn’t gone to that one audition, I wouldn’t have found the laughs, the love, or this little family."
The audition Ordway is referring to is the one moment that led to an audition for the 2011 film Escapee where she met her husband Justin Gaston. A little over a year later, the couple became engaged to be married. Within two years of connecting for the first time, the couple got married.
Today, they are the proud parents of two daughters, Olivia and Sophie. In Ordway's post, you can see a montage of happy moments in which Ordway and her happy family are experiencing moments of joy.
The Young and the Restless family memories
The actress's friends are weighing in on her post with messages of joy and love. "Sliding doors," posted Tracey Bregman, who plays Lauren on The Young and the Restless, along with four heart emojis. "So wild and thank God you did."
Actress Faith Ford (ex-Julia, Another World), best known to primetime sitcom viewers as Corky Sherwood on Murphy Brown, posted, "I was there from that first moment! I will treasure you both always."
"Your family is beautiful Mel," added Debbie Lindsey. "I went to this bank to leave a resume, my Mom went to the back of the bank, and came out with this guy and introduced me to him (I was divorced with a 7-year-old son, and just wanted a job). Well God and my Moma had another plan, Mel. We ended up going out on a date. My son and he shared the same Birthday, and they were both the [thirds]!! We were married for almost 34 years (knew him 36), until he died in 2021. I love your love.❤️."
Ordway responded to Lindsey sharing her story with some heartfelt emojis. Is there a "Butterfly Effect" in your life? Let us know in the comments below.
