The Young and the Restless' Zuleyka Silver goes off-script

On The Young and the Restless, Audra Charles delivers her lines with precision, especially when she has a target for her razor-sharp tongue. But behind the scenes, Zuleyka Silver confessed she messed up on knowing what to say, and when to say it.

On Wednesday evening, Zuleyka Silver (Audra Charles) took to her Instagram stories to share with fans how she messed up. Silver explained that for the first time ever, she learned all of her lines — for the wrong day.

“I memorized the wrong episode,” Silver said into the camera. She overlayed the screen with the text, “May the script gods be with me tomorrow.” Adding that they were filming episodes out of order this week, she added, “I was so good…or so I thought. We’re shooting that Friday.”

“So I am working on tomorrow’s material,” Silver said with a wince and a smile. The Young and the Restless actress noted she was already working on the next episode, but thought she had more time. “No I do not! We are shooting this tomorrow!” she said loudly, admonishing herself. “That’s why you gotta double check…damn.”

Silver continued with another short video, noting that the “cool thing” was that she was able to talk to her followers about the situation. She said she should be working on the script instead of talking to the camera, but felt she worked well under pressure. “Fun fact, I have ADHD, and so I have to have a color-coded Google calendar. I have to be on top of my schedule because my ADHD mainly manifests as poor time management and things like that,” she shared.

Silver continued that she really had to get on top of her scheduling in college and created a system so she wouldn’t run late with her assignments. “So times like this make me feel like I don’t have it well-managed, but I do. It’s just that I didn’t double-check [the script date],” Silver added. She told those watching that if they have ADHD as well, then they know the struggle that she was describing. “It’s not really something I like talking about a lot but it’s very much a part of me,” she said with a smile.

Silver laughed as she added that another part of her ADHD is getting on social media and procrastinating. “But I’m going to get off and I’m going to continue working on them, and I’m going to kill it tomorrow. Okay, I’m done venting…bye!” she chuckled.
