Actor Billy Flynn made headlines when he left his role on Days of our Lives and joined the cast of The Young and the Restless, simultaneously being the talk of all fans when he revealed that he was Aristotle Dumas — and Cane Ashby.
Billy Flynn on The Young and the Restless

“To be on The Young and the Restless and CBS feels like a dream come true,” Flynn shared to Y&R Insider. Like Jermaine Rivers said when he joined the show earlier this year as Damian Kane, Y&R is Flynn’s mom’s favorite show. “So Mom, you’re welcome,” Flynn quipped.
Flynn stated that he knew all of the actors on the show and that he had been watching and admiring them for years. “I know a lot of the people over at CBS and Sony, who work behind the scenes, and I love absolutely all of them, and I’m just…I’m grateful to be here. I really am,” Flynn said.
“Cane Ashby is an amazing character on paper, and obviously, there are some differences to what fans remember as Cane, but I think if they give it a chance for me, I think the character is something that everybody can relate to,” Flynn explained.
Flynn says that Cane is a “guy who is feeling a bit lost and broken and wants to kind of discover who he is.” He added that Cane was ultimately pulled back by the love of his life. “And that’s the love story that I get to play, and I hit the jackpot with Christel [Khalil, who plays Lily Winters on Y&R],” Flynn noted, saying of his costar, “She is special.”
Billy Flynn’s dream come true

“To get the chance to work with Mr. Eric Braeden [Victor Newman, Y&R], has been a gift,” Flynn said. He explained that their first scenes together covered a lot of ground. “We had stuff that I thought was amazing,” the actor explained. Indeed, the pair went off for a private conversation, and Cane surprised Victor by wanting to make a trade for Chancellor. It was an audacious move for anyone, as Victor, as Amanda warns Cane, is a formidable opponent who shouldn’t be underestimated. But Flynn warns Amanda right back that Cane shouldn’t be underestimated, either.
Where the role is heading remains to be seen. Lily has been getting closer to Damian, and hearing that Cane wants to reunite with her could drive her even closer to him. Will Cane’s former employee become his competitor for Lily’s heart? Or will Damian help the fan-favorite couple reunite? By the sounds of it, Flynn is anticipating the Cane and Lily love story to continue one day.
Another relationship of interest is Cane inviting Chance (Conner Floyd) to the party. He wants Chance’s professional assistance as he’s a cop – and Cane feels he’s in danger. After all he has said and done in the past six years (with no doubt more secrets to be revealed), emotions are high. Cane tells Chance that he thinks that by the end of the week, someone will try to kill him. Will Chance be able to prevent the party from taking a dark turn? Will someone actually try to kill Cane — and if so, who, and how? As usual with this storyline, we’re left with more questions than answers — and more will be revealed.
