Eyal Podell dropped to recurring status

The Young and the Restless has trimmed Eyal Podell from its cast. The actor, who took on the role of Adrian two years ago, has seen his airtime dwindle in recent weeks. It's unclear if fans will ever see him again.

Though no one has made an official confirmation, Soap Central has learned that Eyal Podell (Adrian Korbel) has been taken off contract with The Young and the Restless.

Podell's change in status does not come as too much of a surprise. The actor has seen his character's importance shrink in recent weeks. Adrian's love interest, Colleen Carlton, has been spending her time with another man.

After spending the first two years of his childhood in Israel, Podell's family relocated to the United States for a year and then to Hong Kong, where he lived until the age of eight. Podell and his family then returned to the United States, and Podell completed school before later attending Dartmouth College, where he majored in Drama/Theatre.

Podell joined the cast of The Young and the Restless on September 18, 2006. Insiders say that the actor was downgraded to recurring status last month. Podell last aired on August 5th. It is unclear if Podell will make any additional appearances in the near future or of the actor has seen his final days in Genoa City.
