Y&R hires Brett Butler for latest stunt casting

Brett Butler, who turned a successful standup comedy routine into an equally successful 1990s sitcom, will appear on The Young and the Restless next month. Butler will make her Y&R debut in June.

The Young and the Restless has hired another former primetime favorite for a guest spot on the show. Entertainment Weekly reports that comedienne Brett Butler will appear in two episodes of The Young and the Restless set to air next month.

Butler, who headlined the ABC sitcom Grace Under Fire from 1993 through 1998, will play the role of Beth. Butler taped her scenes this week opposite Y&R star Doug Davidson (Paul Williams).

In addition to her upcoming Y&R appearance, Butler will also appear in the FX comedy, Anger Management.

Casting Butler is the latest "stunt casting" move by The Young and the Restless. In January, the CBS soap announced that it had cast Dukes of Hazzard alum Catherine Bach as Anita Lawson.

Butler's scenes will air June 12 and 14.
