Bregman back on contract with Y&R

Tracey E. Bregman celebrated 40 years of The Young and the Restless and 30 years as Lauren Fenmore in grand fashion: she signed a new contract with the CBS soap. Bregman, who has earned an Emmy for her Y&R role, made her first appearance as Lauren in January 1983.

Emmy winner Tracey E Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) is back on contract with television's top-rated daytime drama. The actress signed her name on the dotted line on, appropriately enough, The Young and the Restless' 40th anniversary.

"It's official! Signing my new contract with @Official_YandR on the show's 40th anniversary," Bregman wrote on Twitter, with the hashtag "#grateful."

2013 is also an anniversary year for Bregman. In January, the actress marked 30 years as Lauren.

Though Bregman has often been front-and-center in Y&R story, fans may not have been aware that the Emmy winner has been on recurring status with the show for more than a decade. The reason, Bregman has said, is that she wanted to have flexibility to focus on her most important job: being a mom.

Bregman debuted on The Young and the Restless in 1983 and was a contract player through 1995. Shortly thereafter, Bregman began making recurring appearances on Y&R's sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful, before being placed on contract with B&B from 1998 to 1999. Lauren eventually returned to Genoa City, and has been back on the canvas regularly since August 2001.

In 1985, Bregman was awarded a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Ingnue (now Younger Actress). She has also been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2006 and 2008.

The terms of Bregman's contract were not released.
