WATCH: Y&R's Kate Linder takes an ice shower as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge returns

The Young and the Restless' Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) accepts the 2015 ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and asks some surprising stars to endure the ice bath, as well.

Last year's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) was a huge success, and it looks like this year may be no different. The Young and the Restless' Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) is the next star to take on the viral challenge.

The actress, who's a celebrity spokesperson for the ALS Association, visited Hollywood Boulevard with the President of Trish's Angels, an ALS nonprofit organization, to accept the 2015 challenge. Before being showered with ice-cold water, Linder challenged everyone who has a star on the Walk of Fame to join her in accepting the challenge to find a cure for ALS.

Some other soap performers who have stars on the famous boulevard include Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, All My Children), Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans, Days of our Lives), Rick Springfield (ex-Noah Drake, General Hospital), Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley Santos, AMC), and Eric Braeden (Victor Newman, Y&R). So, here's looking at you, kids!
