Y&R honors show's creators in very special way

The Young and the Restless paid homage to its roots with one very special new character. Can you guess who?

The Young and the Restless has always been about family, and it's no casual coincidence that Bella -- the young daughter of Elizabeth Hendrickson's Chloe -- was given the moniker fans are familiar with. As it turns out, the name is actually in honor of the show's creators, the late William J. Bell and his wife, Lee Phillip Bell.

Angelica McDaniel, Senior Vice President, CBS Daytime, tells Soap Opera Digest that she is actually the person responsible for suggesting the name of the tiny tot. "We were approaching the 11,000th episode, a milestone made possible thanks to the vision of Bill Sr. and Lee Bell, so Bella was born as a tribute to our origins and an expression of gratitude to the Bells and the fans who have made Y&R daytime's most watched soap."
