Y&R alum Shemar Moore: If you think I'm gay, send your girlfriend over to my house

The Young and the Restless alum Shemar Moore wants you to know that he's not gay -- and he's willing to sleep with your girlfriend to help convince you. A photo Moore took with a gay fan created an uproar on celebrity gossip sites.

You've probably heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge and the Mannequin Challenge -- but how about the I'll Sleep With Your Girlfriend Challenge? If you haven't, don't worry, as it probably won't be sweeping the nation anytime soon. It is, however, a challenge started by The Young and the Restless alum Shemar Moore's (ex-Malcolm Winters).

If you've spent any time on the Internet or in line at the supermarket, you've undoubtedly seen headlines that call into question celebrity's marriages or sexuality. That's where Moore comes in. The actor has often been targeted on social media by posts that claim the 44-year-old actor is gay. Rather than ignoring the rumors that have been batted about since he posed for a photo with a gay fan, Moore addresses them head-on in an interview with BET.

"I just think it's all silly. If you're gay, you're gay. I'm not, and I know that and I'm very comfortable with who I am and I love women," Moore explained. "I've dated plenty of them. If you think I'm gay, send your girlfriend over to my house for the weekend and see what happens. For real. You can call that arrogant if you want to. I just call it confident. You can call me whatever you want, but you don't know me."

While the statement may reek of testosterone and machismo, Moore quickly pointed out that he is grateful for all of his fans -- male and female, straight and gay.

"I have fans that are gay, men that come up to me, and they're inspired by me, or they like me as an entertainer, and when they want to give me a hug or take pictures with me, what, am I supposed to not put my arm around them or stand next to them, and if the man next to me in the picture is gay, that makes me gay? That's just simpleminded ignorance, and I don't play that."

A former model, Moore got his big break in 1994 when he was cast as Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless. The actor headed to primetime in 1995 to tackle the role of Derek Morgan on CBS's Criminal Minds. Moore shocked fans earlier this year by announcing that he would be exiting Criminal Minds and the show's hectic production schedule.

Moore's new film The Bounce Back, in which he stars and served as producer, opened in theaters nationwide last week. You can check out the trailer to the film below.
