Eileen Davidson, who just wrapped up as The Young and the Restless' Ashley Abbott last week, was bitten by a brown recluse spider hiding in her bed.

Some people get flowers and gold watches when they retire from a job. The Young and the Restless' Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) got a spider bite.

The actress, who just wrapped up her time on the CBS soap opera last week, took to Instagram to share that a brown recluse spider bit her arm while she was in bed.

"Brown recluse got me!" she posted along with the hashtags #creepy #spiderbite and #someonessleepinginmybed.

Brown recluse venom is extremely poisonous, even more potent than that of a rattlesnake, according to emedicinehealth.com. However, due to the small quantities injected into victims, serious side effects like coma and death are extremely rare. That being said, brown recluse spider bites are extremely painful and can cause serious infections -- which is why many of Davidson's fans are urging her to see a doctor ASAP.

Here's hoping the newly retired actress will be okay and that the unexpected bite doesn't get in the way of her newfound freedom for too long.

As Soap Central previously reported, Davidson opted not to sign a new contract with the CBS soap so she could focus on spending time with her family.

"I am leaving my second home @YandR_CBS in September," Davidson shared on Twitter of her Daytime Emmy-winning role. "I've been so blessed to be able to play Ashley Abbott and work with the amazing people on the show and have nothing but gratitude and love for all!"

Davidson is also known for her five roles on Days of our Lives -- Kristen DiMera, Susan Banks, Thomas Banks, Penelope Banks, and Mary Moira -- for which she also won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2014.
