It's so hard to say goodbye, but that didn't stop stars from The Young and the Restless from drying their tears and sharing special farewell messages for Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott).

Pretty much every fan of The Young and the Restless' Eileen Davidson crawled into bed after Monday's episode of the CBS soap opera. The actress' final scenes as Ashley Abbott took the wind out of viewers' sails -- and damn near took the will to live with 'em. She will be sorely missed, as evidenced by the heartfelt goodbye messages her costars have shared.

Y&R's official Twitter handle put together a collection of farewell quotes from Genoa City residents like Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) and Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott). Check out the emotional goodbyes and matching photos below then share your own goodbye message for Davidson in the comment section at the end of the article. We'd also love to see any photos you may have with the actress, so please feel free to share them on Twitter and tag Soap Central (@soapcentral)!

Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott)

"From the moment we met on the set these many years ago, we were sisters. Ups and downs, life events and comings and goings, we were always returning to the foundation of those days, and I will forever be blessed by the times I have shared with Eileen."

Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman)

"I have been a huge fan of Eileen Davidson since I can remember. Growing up, I loved watching her play Ashley Abbott. She was so beautiful and talented. When I met her, she exceeded my expectations. Eileen is so kind, gorgeous and wonderful. Her talent is so undeniable and she makes everyone lucky enough to work with her a better actor. I feel so lucky to have gotten to work with her and to call her my friend."

Marla Adams (Dina Abbott)

"I love Eileen so much. We've had so many wonderful scenes together. When I returned to the show, we did a scene in the Abbott Living Room and at the end of the scene Eileen cried. I knew then that we would make magic together. I will miss her but respect her decision and hope to see her soon."

Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore)

"I have known Eileen since my first day. I have always loved working with her as she is as talented as they get, funny as hell and sensitive in the way of always asking how things are going. I will miss her much but she lives down the street from me, so chances are good I will see her in the hood! Love you Ei!"

Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott)

"Professional, kind, talented, beautiful, caring, funny, I could go on.. A bright light who would say 'Good morning' to the entire crew every day before the first scene was shot. I will miss Eileen, the Abbotts will miss Eileen, the fans will miss Eileen.. Billy will miss Eileen, most of the time.. We love Eileen."

Davidson, who has been a part of the Y&R canvas since 1982, has a very good reason for having decided to walk away from Genoa City, which she explains here. And, as her final scenes approached, the actress treated fans with a walk down memory lane: she relived some of her best storylines on video, which you can view here.
