Tristan Lake Leabu is reprising his role as The Young and the Restless' Reed Hellstrom. Will the character be instrumental in revealing the fate of his father, J.T.?

The mystery of J.T.'s disappearance continues to heat up on The Young and the Restless, with detective Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) having officially declared the case a murder investigation. And now one more player is potentially being added to the mix: J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) and Victoria's (Amelia Heinle) son, Reed.

Soaps In Depth reports that Tristan Lake Leabu has reprised his role and will be back in Genoa City on Monday, December 10. And although the powers that be at the CBS soap opera haven't revealed exactly what brings Reed back to town, it likely has to do with his father's disappearance.

As fans may recall, Y&R decided to SORAS J.T. and Victoria's son in early 2017, with Leabu stepping into the role previously played by Max Page. The teenage version of Reed was thrilled to bond with his dad over their shared love of music but was devastated when J.T. suddenly disappeared. Believing his father had abandoned him, Reed made the decision to go to boarding school and left the canvas in April 2018.

Reed doesn't know what really happened to his father, but viewers do: Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) accidentally killed J.T., who was being abusive toward Victoria, then she, Victoria, Sharon (Sharon Case), and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) buried his body to cover up the crime. Will Reed be the one who finally brings the truth to light? Be sure to keep tuning in to Y&R to find out.
