Fenmore Baldwin is returning to The Young and the Restless, but he'll have a new face when he checks back into Genoa City this holiday season: the CBS soap opera was forced to recast the role, which will now be played by Zach Tinker.
Former portrayer Max Ehrich took to social media to explain that the powers that be approached him to return to the soap opera he has called home since 2012, but he was unable to take the opportunity due to his recent issues with an alleged stalker.
"Dear #YR fans: I was asked to do a special stint back on the show, but due to the bizarre stalker issue I had; It was unsafe at the time and I had to postpone," he shared on Instagram. "I grew up on #YR and learned so much. Forever grateful for the privilege of working on such an iconic show. Unfortunately, was unable to be there during that time of filming."

Forever grateful for the privilege of working on such an iconic show. Unfortunately, was unable to be there during that time of filming. Excited to say I do have a new Jenji Kohan/Jamie Denbo series premiering early 2019 as well as a Netflix movie & my music. See ya on screen soon. X
Y&R confirms that Tinker will be appearing in the role of Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren's (Tracey Bregman) son on Monday, December 3. Whether or not it will be a temporary replacement or a permanent one remains to be seen.
"Hey, so I can finally talk about this, which is pretty dang neat," Tinker wrote on Instagram along with news of his Y&R casting.
Tinker, whose resemblance to Ehrich is rather uncanny, has a list of television credits that includes My Crazy Ex, Law & Order True Crime, Turnt, NCIS, and You're the Worst. His film credits include Dear Diary I Died and Saturday at the Starlight.
As for what brings Fenmore back to Genoa City, it seems he's keen to deliver a few surprises to his parents. Considering Fen's long history of being a bit of a troublemaker, Christmastime just might be a bit bumpy for the Baldwin clan!
UPDATE (November 30, 2018): The Young and the Restless shared a video introducing Zach Tinker to its viewers. In the video, which you can view below, Tinker's on-screen parents Christian LeBlanc and Tracey Bregman (Michael and Lauren) tease that Fen's return to Genoa City will be filled with some surprises.
