In its continuation of themed throwback weeks, The Young and the Restless has scheduled a week of classic episodes dedicated to its iconic Abbott family. One of the episodes dates all the way back to 1991.

The Young and the Restless' Abbott family is one of the most legendary soap opera clans in history and is filled to the brim with some of the industry's biggest names -- from Jerry Douglas (John Abbott) to Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), and Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) to Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott). Luckily for fans, Y&R is taking fans down memory lane the week of June 1 with five episodes filled to the brim with some of the most heartfelt and endearing Abbott family moments -- plus a few power moments, as well, because it is the Abbott clan we're talking about! Check out the detailed descriptions of each episode below, and don't forget to let us know what you think in the Comments section at the end of the article.

Monday, June 1
Family and friends gather to witness the nuptials of Traci and Brad (The Bold and the Beautiful's Don Diamont [Bill Spencer]), while Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) and Dina plot against Jill (Jess Walton), and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) struggles with her drinking. The episode originally aired November 11, 1991.

Tuesday, June 2
Jack smells success as John Abbott regains control of Jabot, and Victor (Eric Braeden) and Ashley make amends. The episode originally aired September 17, 1999.

Wednesday, June 3
Jack proposes to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), and tensions rise between Traci and Ashley. The episode originally aired September 10, 2001.

Thursday, June 4
As the family mourns the loss of John Abbott, Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Michael (Christian LeBlanc) help Gloria (Judith Chapman) fight for her place among the Abbotts. The episode originally aired August 24, 2006.

Friday, June 5
The Abbotts are reminded of the true meaning of Christmas, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle) celebrate their first Christmas as a married couple, and Billy keeps a secret from his family. The episode originally aired December 24, 2019.

Both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful have been airing classic episodes since April 27, when the shows ran out of new, pre-COVID-19-filmed episodes. In order to keep things exciting for the viewers, Y&R and B&B announced that they would be presenting the throwback episodes via theme weeks filled with long-lost cherished characters, epic adventures, and classic moments. At this time, it's unclear when soap operas will be able to resume production and bring new material to viewers.

Y&R's first theme week kicked off on Monday, April 27, and was dedicated to iconic Genoa City matriarch Katherine Chancellor (played by the late Jeanne Cooper). Its second theme week kicked off on Monday, May 4, and featured Victor and Nikki's love story. Y&R's third week of themed episodes began on May 11 and centered on the show's infamous grudges and rivalries. Its fourth week, which began on May 18, focused on the iconic Winters family, and its fifth week, which began on May 25, featured some of the show's best villains.

Soap Central will be providing recaps for all of the classic episodes that aired before the Internet Age, and you can read them in our Daily Recaps Archives. That's also the place to check out recaps for any soap opera episode that has aired between 1996 and the present day.
