Sorry, The Young and the Restless fans: Victoria Rowell has shut down rumors that she is returning as Drucilla Winters.

Fans of Victoria Rowell were hoping that she would soon be making her way back to Genoa City as The Young and the Restless' Drucilla Winters, but unfortunately, the actress says that she will not be heading back to the CBS soap opera anytime soon.

When rumors recently started swirling online about the possibility of the actress heading back to the role that she played from 1993 to 1998 and again from 2003 to 2007, she took to social media to clarify that it was "fake news."

Many fans feel it's rather unfortunate that Rowell won't be heading back to Y&R in the near future because the show's writers are currently amping up female empowerment storylines that Drucilla would be a perfect fit for.

"I know that they are definitely planning to show more women in power," Christel Khalil (Lily Winters) recently previewed of Y&R's plans. "I think after the #MeToo movement, it's like... that's what's so great about Y&R. We're always keeping up with the times. And there has been a shift on the show to being more women in power."

Fortunately, fans currently have plenty of opportunity to watch Rowell on television, even if she isn't coming back to Y&R for a girl power moment. Her recent projects include hosting the home makeover reality series Trash vs Treasure, as well as starring in the soap opera comedy series The Rich and the Ruthless, a drama focused on the opioid crisis called Jacqueline and Jilly, and the female-focused BET Her Presents: The Waiting Room. She also recently launched a podcast called Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva.
