Genoa City is upping its population with the addition of two new characters, reveals an official press release sent out today by The Young and the Restless.
Actress Ptosha Storey, who is currently a series regular on the BET drama The Oval, will be taking on the recurring role of Naya Benedict. The Dallas, Texas, native's past credits include Empire, If Loving You Is Wrong, Strong Medicine, and Numb3rs.
Storey took to Instagram a few days ago to share that she has started something new, teasing, "Great day on the set of my next project! Grateful to be working in spite of this Covid -19 season. Can't wait to share this one!"
Meanwhile, actress Leigh-Ann Rose has been cast as Imani Benedict. Some of Rose's past credits include the OWN series Love Thy Neighbor and a recurring role on Younger.
Y&R is keeping mum about additional character details, including how Imani and Naya -- who share a last name -- are related. Therefore, it looks like fans will have to tune in for Storey and Rose's Y&R debut on Thursday, December 24, to find out more!
