Another Chance: Fine out who has been hired to play Y&R's Chance

It looks like the reports of Chance Chancellor's death have been greatly exaggerated. The Young and the Restless has confirmed Chance's return, but there will be a new actor taking on the role.

If you're one of the many fans of The Young and the Restless that suspected Chance Chancellor wasn't really killed in the explosion in Spain, it turns out that you were right! The presumed-dead hubby of Abby Newman is being written back into the show -- but he will look a little different than the last time viewers saw him.

The Young and the Restless has hired Conner Floyd to take on the role of Phillip Chancellor IV, but you can call him Chance. This will be Floyd's first soap role, but the actor has other television credits including the made-for-TV movies Malicious Motives and A Kiss on Candy Cane Lane. He can also be seen in the upcoming movie Help Wanted.

Chance has proven to be a somewhat challenging role for The Young and the Restless. Since 2010, three other actors have played the role. John Driscoll assumed the role in July 2009 before exiting in 2011. Chance remained off-screen for eight years until Donny Boaz stepped into Chance's shoes in November 2019. Boaz was temporarily replaced in November 2020 when he contracted COVID-19. Justin Gaston, the real-life husband of Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman), took over for several weeks, during which time Abby and Chance were married. Boaz eventually returned to the role in December 2020 before exiting in February 2021.

A first airdate for Floyd has not yet been revealed, but Soap Central has learned that Chance will pop up on-screen later this month.
