It's been 14 years since soap fans last saw James Hyde on Passions. Now, the actor is back on daytime, on The Young and the Restless, playing a character with a secret past with Diane Jenkins.

It looks like Diane Jenkins was busy -- really busy -- during that whole period of time when she was supposedly dead.

James Hyde has been cast as Jeremy Stark, a man who shared some kind of connection with Diane during her time away from Genoa City. As you might expect, Y&R is being tightlipped about what that connection is or was.

If Hyde looks familiar to you, it might be because he's appeared in daytime before. Hyde played the role of Sam Bennett on Passions from 1999 through 2008. He also appeared briefly as Liam on As the World Turns, and as Neil Johanssen in a handful of episodes of Another World in 1997.

Since leaving daytime, Hyde has gone on to do numerous guest stints in primetime series, including the original CSI, as well as a bunch of movie roles. Most recently, he has starred as Martin Ross in the Netflix series Monarca. The actor also has a recurring role on the upcoming Telemundo series La Reina Del Sur, premiering October 18.

Hyde will appear in "multiple episodes" of The Young and the Restless, beginning Friday, October 21. And, no, you wouldn't be alone in thinking that he's probably going to appear in the final seconds of that Friday's episode.

What do you think Jeremy Stark's secret past with Diane Jenkins entails? Will they have had a good past... or a not-so-good one? We want to hear from you -- and there are many ways you can share your thoughts.
