"Today is the day. You know your boy's got butterflies," he said in the video. "Today is a special day. This is a legendary day. Today, your boy Shemar Motherf-king Moore... is going to find out if he's going to be a daddy to a little girl or a little boy."

A helicopter flew over party, which featured oodles of balloons and teddy bears, and sprayed pink into the air.

The self-described "52-and-a-half"-year-old shared that he and girlfriend Jesiree Dizon are planning to name the little bundle of joy Frankie.

Moore broke the news about his impending fatherhood during a taping of the Jennifer Hudson show last week. The show held the news until after Moore made his own announcement on Instagram.

"On February 8, in real life, Shemar Moore is about to be daddy," the Emmy-winning actor shared, admitting that he thought the "ship had sailed" on his chance to be a dad.

Moore made special mention of his late mother, telling her that he wished she was still alive to be able to meet her granddaughter. Moore noted that his mom is "smiling from Heaven" and would still be "a part of all of this."

The 39-year-old Dizon said she is "excited" but "anxious" about the baby -- and admitted she was hoping for a girl. Dizon has two other children, a son and a daughter, from previous relationships.

"I honestly just want whatever is healthy, happy like [Moore] says 10 fingers, 10 toes," she told the camera. "I'm just so excited for this portion of our life together, and it's going to be amazing."

Moore's television career kicked off in 1994 when he joined the cast of The Young and the Restless. Moore eventually left his full-time stint at Y&R in 2002 at the urging of his reps. He returned for another run from 2004 to 2005. Beginning that same year, he enjoyed an eleven-year run as Derek Morgan on CBS' Criminal Minds. Since 2017, Moore has starred as Sergeant II Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson on S.W.A.T. -- also on CBS. From 1999 to 2003 Moore hosted Soul Train.

During his daytime tenure, Moore won the 2000 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series as well as eight NAACP Image Awards. Moore also won an Image Award for his work on Criminal Minds.
