The Young and the Restless star Sasha Calle cast in new Hollywood flick

Sasha Calle left The Young and the Restless and Lola behind for a movie, and her star just keeps rising.

After making her big screen debut in 2023 in DC's The Flash as Supergirl, Deadline reports that former The Young and the Restless star Sasha Calle (ex-Lola Rosales) is set to begin filming this month in a thriller co-starring Hollywood names like Woody Harrelson, Owen Wilson, and Juliette Lewis.

Lips Like Sugar is set in 1984 Los Angeles with the Summer Olympics as its backdrop. In the flick, Calle plays teenager Andi Campos, whose new BFF disappears with a serial killer on the loose. Harrelson and Wilson play the L.A. detectives tasked with finding her, while Calle's Andi joins them in their quest.

Calle made her soap debut as Lola Rosales in 2018 and quickly gained popularity when paired with Michael Mealor's Kyle Abbott. By 2021, Lola and Kyle's marriage had ended, and she was ready to start life anew back home in Florida.

Kyle had an affair with Summer Newman (then Hunter King), while Lola's rebound romance with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) was a total bust. Lola's subsequent move was necessitated by Calle's decision to leave the soap, but the door was left wide open for her return.

In February of 2021, news broke that she'd landed the coveted role of Supergirl in The Flash, but according to Deadline, she won't be returning as Supergirl in any subsequent DC movies. Calle has another film, On Swift Horses, that is currently in post-production.
