Summer and Claire ran into each other in the park. Claire showed Summer a family tree she had framed for their grandparents. Claire said that her parents had encouraged her to change her name to Newman so she felt more like a part of the family. Summer was glad that Claire had included herself in the tree. Summer told Claire that she had heard of Nikki’s job offer and hoped that Claire would not accept it.

Summer said she had been awful to Claire, but Claire understood. Clarie acknowledged the horrible things she had done to Summer’s family and said she knew it wasn’t Summer’s choice for Claire to care for Harrison. Claire admitted that because part of her job with Jordan had been researching the Newman family members, Claire had followed Summer on social media long before meeting her. Summer was flattered that Claire considered her an inspiration.

Claire explained that out of everyone in the Newman family, she'd wanted Summer to like her. Summer asked if Claire had decided on Nikki’s job offer, and Claire said she hadn’t accepted it but had not ruled it out. “Don’t let anyone tell you what to do with your life,” Summer said.

Nick saw Phyllis at Crimson Lights and gave her an update on Faith and Lucy. He explained that he hadn’t known that Lucy had been in the accident when he'd gotten the call about Faith. Phyllis said she was worried about Nick. Nick shared that he was more concerned about Sharon and that she was struggling to keep her stress balanced.

Nick told Phyllis that Daniel blamed himself for Lucy’s actions and the string of events that had followed. Phyllis said no one should be blamed, and she asked about Sharon and her medication. Nick said he only knew what Sharon had told him—that the doctors were sorting it out. Phyllis suggested that Sharon wasn’t lying, but there was something Sharon wasn’t dealing with. Phyllis told Nick he could lean on her.

At home, Sharon warned Cameron that her nerves couldn’t take any more of his advice. She rambled about Faith coming home and about not wanting to dwell on blame, but then her voice changed to a menacing tone as she added that there was enough blame to be had. Mariah startled Sharon by walking into the room.

Mariah asked why Sharon sounded angry. Sharon said she was venting to herself. Mariah was taken aback when Sharon had another outburst and yelled that everyone wanted to keep pointing out the similarities of Cassie and Faith’s previous accidents to the present situation. Mariah said that if Sharon needed to scream at someone, Mariah could take it. Sharon apologized and stopped, noting that she was worried that if she started, she wouldn’t be able to stop. Cameron interrupted and reminded Sharon that she didn’t want anyone to know how angry she was at Lucy and Daniel.

Sharon said she was going to the hospital, and Mariah insisted on going with her. Cameron told Sharon that no one left her alone and that it was starting to get in their way, so Sharon convinced Mariah to take separate cars. Once alone, Cameron told Sharon he would be there for her as long she needed him.

At the hospital, Daniel told Heather how guilty he felt, from the accident with Cassie to Lucy’s actions with Faith. Heather said her conscience was clear and that Daniel needed to stop torturing himself about the past. Daniel said Sharon blamed them as parents. Heather said she couldn’t stop Sharon from blaming Daniel, but he had to stop blaming himself.

Lucy awoke and saw Faith’s empty bed next to her and panicked that Faith had died. Heather and Daniel explained that Faith had gone for tests. Lucy cried while she apologized profusely to her dad. She said she was having nightmares and was full of guilt for causing the accident.

Sharon arrived at the hospital and stopped in her tracks when she saw Lucy sobbing that it was all her fault, and Faith’s bed was empty. Mariah walked up and reminded Sharon that Faith was having tests done. As Nick and Heather approached, Sharon tried to look stable, and she said she was fine. After Nick and Mariah walked away, Sharon’s face and tone changed toward Heather.

Sharon was stone-faced while Heather tried to be empathetic to Sharon's feelings. Once Heather realized Sharon's coldness was unrelenting, she made herself clear. “I really hope we can support the kids through their recoveries and not focus on any recriminations,” Heather said as Sharon glared at her.

Summer caught up with Phyllis at Crimson Lights. Phyllis told Summer that Lucy was torturing herself and that they needed to be supportive. “We need to make sure that something like this never happens again. We are so lucky history didn’t repeat itself,” Phyllis said.

Daniel thanked Nick for bringing coffee and food for everyone. Daniel shared that Lucy was beating herself up over the accident. Daniel apologized again, but Nick said it wasn’t his fault. “Don’t waste your time blaming yourself; your daughter needs your time and focus. Think about that, not the past,” Nick advised.
