The Young and the Restless' Phyllis and Sharon were bitter enemies for years, so it's nice that we've been seeing a change in the dynamic of their relationship these past several months. In Wednesday's episode, Sharon was emotional when she called Phyllis to thank her for her supportive voicemails and text messages regarding Noah's condition.
Should Phyllis go the extra mile and make a trip to L.A. to visit Sharon and lend in-person support to her new friend?
What happened on Wednesday on The Young and the Restless

On Wednesday's episode of The Young and the Restless, Sharon (Sharon Case) was struggling with a variety of difficult emotions regarding Noah's (Lucas Adams) car crash and Mitch's (Roger Howarth) possible involvement in it. She is still reeling from the shock that Mitch is really Matt Clark, the man who raped her over twenty years ago.
When Sharon called Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), she was crying but grateful for all the text messages and voicemails of support Phyllis sent her. Sharon left Phyllis an emotional voicemail, lingering for a minute or two, as though she wanted to say more. We were left to wonder what words Sharon left unspoken.
It felt as though she needed her ex-enemy and rival for Nick's (Joshua Morrow) affections to hop on the next plane to L.A. Sharon's been through the ringer and could use a friend to talk to. She feels a new kinship with Phyllis, due to the mutual hell they went through after Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins) kidnapped them and held them prisoner. Wouldn't it be wonderfully soapy if the fiery redhead flew to L.A., so we could get a face-to-face conversation and some supportive hugs between these two ladies? After all the years they spent hating each other, it would give us a warm and fuzzy feeling inside to see them finally connect as friends.
Sharon needs a friend after her confrontation with Mitch

When Sharon let loose on Mitch at The Shadow Room, The Young and the Restless fans cheered her on. We're so used to seeing her as a weepy, helpless victim who's always being kidnapped, drugged, and tormented by inner demons (like Cameron, played by Linden Ashby) that it was great to see her face another one of her past attackers and tell him, "No more! I am not afraid of you."
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, a stronger Sharon has emerged. Mitch looked like he didn't know what hit him. He continues to insist he isn't Matt (which is infuriating), but Sharon isn't allowing him to fool her. She put him on notice that she will not allow him to hurt her loved ones under any circumstances. Her fire and feistiness reminded us of the Katy Perry song "Roar." We hope this is just the beginning of fearless, "eye of the tiger" Sharon. We love her!
After getting riled up at Matt and returning to her hotel room, she tried to calm herself down as she called Phyllis, but she struggled. We saw the tears in her eyes and heard them in her voice as she told Phyllis, "Funny how the emotions come up and they get to you when everything's finally okay, right? You know how that is, don't you?" Sharon knows Phyllis gets it, after everything they suffered through together at the hands of Martin. And since Sharon doesn't have a close friend the way Sally (Courtney Hope) has Audra (Zuleyka Silver) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) has Daniel (Michael Graziadei), maybe Phyllis could be the friend who Sharon needs by her side right now.
Phyllis may want to get out of GC for a while, once Cane finds out she stole his AI program

Things may be heating up right now between Phyllis and Cane (Billy Flynn), but once he discovers that she stole his AI program, what will he do to retaliate?
Maybe she should get out of town while the getting is good and head to sunny Los Angeles. Sharon would appreciate that she cared enough to fly halfway across the country to spend some bonding time with her. After all, Phyllis cares about Noah, too, since she was his stepmother when she was married to Nick. We need more female friendships on The Young and the Restless, so this would be an awesome direction for Sharon's storyline to take.
