Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless, Billy saw the freshly refreshed Abbott mansion today, and he wasn’t feeling refreshed by it at all. The irony of that — Jack spent weeks worrying that his family home would lose it’s John Abbott vibe, and that all of his memories would have gone out with the recycling truck. But it turned out to be Billy, the one that no one every thinks has any depth or sentimentality, who was the one with all the feels. Diane took the criticism well but she pretty much thought Jack was the hurdle to get over as far as opinions go. Sure, she was worried about Tracy and Ashley’s opinion — but more because she thought it might give Ashley another reason to dislike her. But no one thought about Billy at all, which is probably why is reaction was such a surprise. When he said it didn’t feel like home anymore…ouch. But on the flipside, as there always is, Billy appreciated the same thing being done to his own place. Sally redesigned his home, too, and “refreshed” elements of his stuff into the new look. Photos of Delia, a lamp from when he was a child, etc. All the things she could bring in from the past to make part of his present, so he’d have memories but in a modern way. Funny that he doesn’t see it that way in the mansion.
