Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless
A lot of fun, soapy things happened on The Young and the Restless today, all of which will be explored later this week in Soap Central's Two Scoops column. However, the one that truly caught our eye today was something "small" -- but wasn't truly small at all! It's been a little over a year since Y&R brought back the familiar Newman Ranch. Perhaps not quite as grandiose as the original, but a vast improvement over that place Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) moved into (after their first home was destroyed), which seemed unbefitting for a couple of their stature on the top-rated soap. Today, Nikki did something that she would have been hard-pressed to do in her last abode. She came down her staircase and eavesdropped on a conversation between Victor and Adam (Mark Grossman), unseen by the two men. Nikki now knows that Victor and Adam know that about Jack's (Peter Bergman) plan to shut down Jabot to keep it safe. Soaps don't have location shoots nearly as much anymore. They don't have many things that they once did. However, as long as they have staircases, hidden alcoves, and other secret spaces so that characters can hear things that they may not be supposed to be hearing, viewers will be pleased! Soaps are all about secrets, and, for now, Nikki has one that Victor doesn't know about.
