The Young and the Restless' Daily YAPP Recap, August 11: Try as he might, Kyle is no Jack Abbott

Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless today, Kyle once again showed he was out of Audra’s league. Not only because he didn’t back away when she pulled him in for a kiss, but because he told his dad the truth when he asked him what he was thinking. According to Kyle, he knew that Audra was out to seduce him before they went to Nice. But he forgot to tell Claire that Audra was going too when he suddenly decided to get on the plane. Then on the train in France, Kyle feigned resistance when Audra undressed in front of him, but he was taking a good, long look at her booty when she had her back turned. He continued to flirt for days, and when she came to his train car needing sympathy, he turned on the charm, while wearing just a towel. If nothing was wrong with what Kyle was doing, why didn’t he tell Claire about kissing Audra in France? Because he’s lying — to Claire, to Jack, and most likely, to himself. Mr. Gaslighter Abbott is denying everything that happened to even Audra, but she (and we) know the truth. And today he spoke it…kinda. Kyle told his dad he only went mattress dancing with Audra on the train because he wanted to see how far she would go. Um…if you knew she was up this the entire time, you didn’t need that bit of info. Audra’s right: Kyle wants her. And that excuse might have worked on Claire before, but how’s he going to explain this kiss right in front of her? Smilin’ Jack was a player and a cad, but he knew what he always knew was he was doing. Kyle? Not so much.
