After watching The Young and the Restless today, I think I must be forgetting something. When did Chelsea and Lily become BFF’s? They probably shared a screen a time or two before, but please jog my memory when it was that Lily would confide in Chelsea? Sure, she’s got a beef with her ex, and definitely talking to Chelsea fueled that fire — finding out they could’ve left the estate the whole time might’ve saved lives was a shocker and a good reason to be upset. But Lily is super concerned that her kids might find out that their horrible father has been “lying to the world” by becoming a billionaire. And he wants her back. Ooh, the horror. But aside from her confusing level of rage about Cane when she’s claimed to have gotten along with him for the past six years, or why she’s so convinced she can tell him how to live his life (right down to being angry that he found some sort of forgiveness for his dying father on his deathbed), Lily claims to be mostly worried about their kid’s reactions to the news that their dad is Aristotle Dumas, when it’s inevitably is revealed in the press. So why then, is she giving the inside scoop to the media? Instead of calling Mattie and Charlie first, Lily told Chelsea everything she could think of about Cane and his motivation, future plans, etc. (aka all of her assumptions). If you want to shield your kids from the press, maybe don’t feed them the information yourself. And it’s not like she forgot: Lily asked Chelsea when Newman Media would break the story before launching into a gossipy therapy session with the CEO of the company.
