Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

It was a pure holiday treat to see pals Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) catch up at Society on today's episode. The two share a long history as Traci's late daughter, Colleen (Lyndsy Fonseca), was best friends with Lily. Traci lost Colleen a few years after Lily's mother, Drucilla (Victoria Rowell), fell off a cliff, presumably to her death. Now, Lily's got grown kids of her own, but the bond she and Traci share remains the same; if anything, thei connection has only grown deeper. It's only natural that Colleen's name would come up while the two women talked. Lily asked Traci if it was too painful to talk about her daughter, but Traci said it wasn't. Lily, unfortunately, doesn't have a mom to talk to about her problems any longer. She sure could use a friendly and supportive ear while she navigates her complicated relationship with her ex-husband, Cane (Billy Flynn). Fortunately, Lily has Traci, who is more than willing and able to share some of her wisdom. As Lily's an adult, she's mature enough to ask Traci about her life. Colleen inquired to her surrogate mother to see if she might ever find love again. Traci's response (essentially, if it happens, it happens) was very wise and could be applied to anyone hoping to find love. The Lily/Traci connection on The Young and the Restless is a reminder to viewers that soaps are about, above all else, family.
