Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Soap fans think of characters on shows like family. The Young and the Restless kept that in mind when the show decided to have Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) reunite for the holidays. They knew that there was no way a Y&R fan was going to be able to enjoy his or her Christmas knowing that Victor and Nikki were on the outs. If their split over Jabot Cosmetics and Jack had occurred at any other time of the year, we'd have been just fine if the show had delayed their inevitable reunion. But, no, it's the holidays, a time for peace and for families to come together. Not only did the show treat viewers to happy celebrations with Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) and others, but they gave us the Victor and Nikki reunion it knew we wanted! It was the best present ever. Victor and Nikki had already done their holiday shopping, so they went ahead and shared the gifts that they'd bought. Would that be enough to reunite the two? Once Victor shared the story with Nikki that his late mother, Cora, had left him at an orphanage on Christmas Eve because she couldn't afford to keep him, we knew that Victor and Nikki were going to put aside their differences over Jack (at least for the holiday) and move forward. This allowed viewers to do the same. Happy holidays!
