Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:

What happened on The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless chose wisely with this year's holiday rebroadcast with the episode from 2010 in which Victor (Eric Braeden), fully aware of his Charles Dickens, went on a journey similar to the one that Ebenezer Scrooge did in A Christmas Carol. The mogul could use a refresher about the true meaning of the holidays -- and life -- by sitting down and viewing this episode. Throughout the show, Victor knew each part that was coming next, but that didn't stop him from being emotionally impacted. He took to heart how family members gathered at his grave and let their true feelings be known. His son, Nicholas (Joshua Morrow), simply wanted to get back to work. His daughter, Abby (then, Emme Rylan; now, Melissa Ordway), had to get to a photo shoot. Taking this, along with visits from ghosts of Christmas Past (Hope, played by Signy Coleman) and Christmas Present (Sabrina, Raya Meddine), Victor had a change of heart. Shooting the dream sequences in black and white was very effective and served as a contrast to the colors in the final act, in which Victor visited family, friends, and foes, bearing gifts. "Merry Christmas," Victor told Nikki at the end of the episode. Watching Victor with his beloved Golden Retriever at the end of the episode was the perfect touch!
