Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What Happened on The Young and the Restless

The Chancellor mansion may not be seen much anymore on The Young and the Restless, but in today's classic rebroadcast on New Year's Day, the beloved estate was front and center. Not only did Katherine Chancellor (the late, great Jeanne Cooper) host a gala there for Genoa City's favorite citizens, but ownership of the mansion and its grounds came into question as Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton) had a server hand Kay some court papers, calling the ownership of the late Phillip II's (Donnelly Rhodes) home into question. The episode was jam-packed with everything fans love about the show. The gala at Kay's home resulted in various characters who didn't normally interact with one another sharing some face time. We saw favorites from the past, including Malcolm (Shemar Moore), the late Neil (Kristoff St. John), and the late Ryan (Scott Reeves). But the standout of the episode was watching Walton's Jill take unmitigated glee in the anticipation she was feeling about crashing Kay's party and seeing the look on her face when she tells her that they're going to hash it out on court ownership of the house. There was a great payoff in the episode when Kay looked at the court documents and then just dropped them to the ground towards the end of the episode. Both Kay and Jill got into a staring contest, each confident that she'd be the victor in this latest story. Bravo to The Young and the Restless for selecting this dynamic episode to rebroadcast!
