Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:

What happened on The Young and the Restless

Following Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) consummating their relationship with a love-making session, The Young and the Restless decided it was a good time to check in on Mariah (Camryn Grimes). While she appeared to have banished Ian Ward (Ray Wise) from her imagination earlier this year, the baddie popped up again, ready to mess with Mariah's mind. Wise was in rare form as he played Ian on the outside like a caring and concerned paternal figure, guiding Mariah to a better life. Those who have seen the former cult leader in action, however, know otherwise. With every fiber of his being, Ian is trying to manipulate Mariah. He urged Mariah to tear up a photo of Tessa and Aria in an effort to control her and have her discard her past life. Viewers have been anxious for a development in this story (beyond Daniel and Tessa making love), and it appears they're going to be getting one. What plan does Ian have? Or, perhaps, the better question to ask is, what has Mariah conjured up in her mind that is supposed to be Ian's plan? Will it involve her running away, cutting off contact with all her friends and family back in Genoa City? Or does this plan entail Mariah returning home and taking action that could have major ramifications in the lives of everyone Mariah loves?
