Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless, Nick and Sharon were taken by Carter and a security guard to an undisclosed room somewhere on Cane’s estate and were placed under “house arrest” for the murder of Damian Kane. Of course, why Sharon is going along for the ride is a mystery, but at least Nick’s not alone. This is Sharon’s third time being held against her will this year, and by now, she’s learned some tricks. One of them is lock picking. Which sounds like a decent enough plan, but not when you really think about it. First of all, the hinges to the door are on the inside of the room! Odd way of finding out that Nick’s not a handyman, but maybe those details matter. Instead of simply freeing them, Nick focused on some old items of the previous owner, and looked for clues to a mystery he didn’t know existed. And what did they discover? A bottle of champagne. Sharon suggested they drink it, which would probably have been a better plan, but Nick figured out if he untwisted the wire, Sharon could use it on the lock (she can’t really; she’d need two for that, and the one she’s got is too weak. But I digress…). Clearly, Nick’s not going to pop off those hinges and simply walk out of the room. But he still has that bottle. Of course, he won’t use it to smash over Carter’s head the next time he enters the room — what kind of dramatic exit would that be?! He should pop that cork in Carter’s direction and fizz all the champagne in his face before grabbing Sharon and bolting. Then maybe he can rip the Carter mask off his face and discover who the real villain is, too. Zoinks!
