The Young and the Restless' Daily YAPP Recap, July 28: Cane only mourns losing Lily

Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless today, despite everything that happened — and boy, did they cover some ground in one episode — but despite it all, amid all the despair, the drama, and the deaths, Cane’s still laser-focused on his goal. Okay, so there's no right way to grieve...but with Carter's dead body lying on the ground next to him, Cane, that endurable romantic, is still transfixed on getting Lily back. But…we gotta know…why? They haven’t been together for eons. And it’s not like he hasn’t seen her, in fact, they even showed us flashbacks to when, apparently, they’ve met for coffee and talked about their adultish children…and fought. Why did they fight? Because Lily is a bossypants. “Now that I’ve seen her…now that I’ve talked to her…” Cane mused to Amanda moments after she called the authorities (but days after she should have), and two more were added to the body count. Why now that you’ve seen her, Cane? Having Lily surrounded by people with nothing but disdain for him and encouraging her to distance herself even more wasn’t really a selling point. Did she look different than the last time? Not on our watch. And why ‘now that you’ve talked to her’? Did you hear what she was saying — or worse, the way she was saying it? Cane might not care to read the room much, but the outdoor gathering places must have really done him in. Of course, it’ll take some work, but we all know the Cane and Lily are destined for a reunion, eventually. But…Lily’s so rude and angry all the time to everyone. What exactly is it that is drawing him back?
