Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless, Lily recently blasted Phyllis for not being there for Daniel in his time of need. Phyllis shot back that her son was just fine spending time with his dad. But back at home, Danny and Christine couldn’t help but note that Daniel wasn’t fine. But again, Danny got the World’s Okayest Dad award by immediately talking about himself and his own relationship. While gushing about how great his life is and how fantastic it is for him to have the love of his life by his side, even on tour, Danny threw in a “I couldn’t imagine living without her” for good measure. Ouch. Considering the reason his son is struggling so badly is because he actually has to imagine living without the love of his life, maybe Daniel wasn’t the audience of one that Danny should’ve chosen. Not that Daniel should’ve been surprised. Since Heather died, every time we’ve seen Danny, whether he’s been with his son either in person, on the phone, or a video call, this is what he does. Maybe it wasn’t until Heather died that we realized Danny made inappropriate jokes when he should have been compassionate, but he’s taking it a little far. If he thinks Daniel is suffering, why not address that rather than blather on about how good his life is and propose now after all these years? But wait, there’s more: he promised to call Daniel first when she said yes — bet he’s super excited to feign enthusiasm for that call, too.
