Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless, let’s just get to the chase of it: WTH happened on Mariah’s business trip? We’re sure that this is designed to put a wedge between Tessa and Mariah to make room for a guy who’s not ready whatsoever for a romantic relationship, but what’s up with that other guy who shows up in black and white flashbacks? The nameless one — we’ll call him That Guy for now — is a headscratcher, to say the least. Mariah as good as admitted that she’d had a fling with him when she was drunk and disorderly, but whatttttttt on earth is going on?! This one is more of a mystery than the whole billionaire-in-the-Riviera thing going on halfway across the world. If Mariah was going to have a one-night stand with someone and never mention it again, then we really didn’t need to see the flashbacks. No offense to the visuals. But seriously, Mariah’s in a lesbian relationship, and yeah, okay, she’s been with men before, but one as old as Ian? There’s a plot twist we didn’t see coming. And if she was going to have a mistaken night of debauchery in a hotel room that was unforgivable on a Victor Newman level, then why identify them at all if she never wants to speak of it again? Casting Michael Swan as That Guy is a sure sign that we haven’t seen the last of him —which is a good thing, because dammit, we want answers!
