The Young and the Restless' Daily YAPP Recap, June 2: Kyle tries to charm his way into Victor's good graces

Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless, Kyle finally got his big moment to show Nikki a grand gesture and win over Victor’s approval of his relationship with Claire. First, he helped wheel out a cake he had zero part in (Claire was late bringing it, while Kyle showed up early). Then, he made a toast that was lovely, except he and Nikki aren’t close, and most of the things he said weren’t his place to say…so it came off a teensy bit insincere and a whole lotta laying it on thick. Not that Nikki minded, those were the moments she was lapping it up while Victor stood behind her, less than entertained. But then came the big reveal: the gift. And on that one, Kyle knocked it out of the park. He gave Nikki a charm bracelet with engraved tags, each one bearing the name of one of her grandchildren. And while everyone else at the party murmured, “Oh right, Reed!” and “Yeah, where IS Christian??” Nikki seemed to know all of them and wasn’t alarmed that most had disappeared. But while Kyle gave a great gift, and Nikki sure seemed touched by it, Victor was the actual audience that he needed — and he didn’t look nearly as impressed as everyone else in the room. So did it do the job he’d hoped, and did he win over The Moustache once and for all? That would be a very hard no.
