Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

On The Young and the Restless, Daniel needs to move. His mom accused him of being Mr. Glass-Half-Full, but he’s sounding more like Mr. Glass Houses. Phyllis has been knocking herself out since last year to ensure that whatever success she experiences, that Daniel is part of the package — and all she seems to get back for her efforts is a bunch of snide remarks and sarcastic put-downs from her son. Today, Phyllis excitedly told Daniel that she got the hottest ticket in town: an invitation to the Aristotle Dumas’ exclusive party in Nice, France. Without asking another question or needing a tiny bit more information, he jumped immediately to telling her that she was a nobody and shouldn’t have been invited. For once, Phyllis told him he was being disrespectful, and she was right. Sure, Phyllis is a lot for most, but together, Daniel and Summer pretty much treated her like crapola most of the time. And when they were supportive, it was only after they’d eye-rolled, insulted, and mocked her to the point of tears. It was kinda funny the first time, and yeah, I am guilty of enjoying the siblings’ banter, but enough now, Daniel. Phyllis pointed out that no one wants to hire her in Genoa City — but those who did, certainly didn’t want Daniel. So maybe he should stand down on the superiority and give his mom some grace. Yes, he’s been through hell, but so has she. If he can’t be supportive, he could at least not be so rude. And yep, you caught me…I’m defending Phyllis…
