Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on The Young and the Restless

On The Young and the Restless, Sally, Phyllis, and Mariah are being fueled by desperation. Although she projects a much different energy, Sally must be desperate to cling to Billy with every hook she has. Why else would she throw away her career (and independence) to jump into a start-up with Billy, knowingly taking on enemies like Phyllis and Victor? She is doing the exact same thing she accused Chelsea of when they both quit with no notice at the same meeting to go work with their boyfriends with disastrous histories, both personally and professionally. Speaking of Phyllis, at least she’s being real about needing relevance, but Daniel nailed it when he could see she was acting from a place of desperation. And then he saw Tessa, who was freshly wounded from the fallout with Mariah. While none of us, including Tessa, have any idea what all this fuss is about, this better be good (or terrible) for the amount of build-up Mariah is doing. Everything Mariah is right now is so out of character: crying all the time, not communicating, not trusting to share. Even implying she did something awful while she was on her business trip. None of it is the Mariah we’ve known for a really long time now. But, she is Sharon’s daughter, so maybe this is the start of something else. When Sharon goes on business trips, all hell breaks loose.
