Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

On The Young and the Restless, if Phyllis wasn’t clear before today on her status at Abbott Communications, she got it spelled out for her. Phyllis tried to save a little face in front of Sally by calling her firing a sabbatical, but Billy wouldn’t give her any hope for a return. To add salt to the wound, Sally chimed in that Billy didn’t want to fire her, and that he wrestled with it for a long time — thereby admitting she was a topic of their discussions. But not to outdo himself, Billy let Phyllis know that he didn’t, in fact, need her to succeed because he’d already found her replacement, and she was sitting right there getting a front row seat to Phyllis’ humiliation. And that, my friends, is when Phyllis’ psycho switch was activated. She immediately threw Billy under the bus that he was already driving himself, and let Sally know she was just next in line for his pattern of partnering with friends and exes, and then stabbing them in the back. And right at that moment, Sally should’ve texted Summer and asked for her job back. But instead, she was too stunned, realizing that Phyllis was letting her psycho unleash, and Sally didn’t dare move. From one redhead to another, Sally knows Phyllis ain’t kidding. Now that Phyllis and Sharon are friends, that rage must be directed at a new target, and Billy (and Sally) should’ve known better than to volunteer for the spot.
