The Young and the Restless Daily YAPP recap, November 12: Sharon shifts into protective mama bear mode

Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:

What happened on The Young and the Restless'

Too often, we see characters go through ordeals that don't change them. It's conveniently forgotten when the next storyline rolls around. We have to give Y&R big kudos for giving us the Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) we know her to be! Rather than pace frantically and act all helpless, she's grabbed the bull by the horns and addressed the Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) situation directly. Sharon remembers that when Faith (Reylynn Caster) was taken hostage by Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby). She didn't save Faith's life by waiting for someone to come and do the rescuing. Sharon confronted Cameron and killed him to save Faith, who had a bomb strapped to her! Sharon's not going to stick around and wait for "Mitch" to fess up and share with the folks in Los Angeles that he's the man who once raped Sharon. We also when Sharon survived her kidnapping ordeal courtesy of Martin (Christopher Cousins). This isn't the woman Matt victimized before. The last time the bad guy came back into Sharon and Nick's (Joshua Morrow) lives on The Young and the Restless, he had plastic surgery and used a fake name. This time, Sharon is on to Matt. She's not afraid to stare him right in the face and let him know what she's capable of doing should her family be placed in jeopardy. Knowing that Noah and Sienna (Tamara Braun), Matt's wife, have locked lips has only given Sharon more reason to suspect that Matt has it out for her son and her family. She's ready for him this time!
