Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

We're not sure who to feel more sorry for on The Young and the Restless -- Daniel (Michael Graziadei) or Tessa (Cait Fairbanks). Mariah (Camryn Grimes) -- or rather her doctors and personnel at the clinic -- are discouraging her from seeing Tessa. We can't blame Tessa for feeling sad. How many times can she handle being pushed away by the woman she loves or by her medical team? Apparently, quite a few! Mariah has told Tessa time and time again that she can't be with her. She finally confessed that it was because she nearly killed a mysterious man (played by Michael Swan, best known to soap fans as Duncan on As the World Turns). Mariah just can't get past this despite recently banishing a demonic hallucination in the form of Ian Ward (Ray Wise), the man she blames for her tortured psyche. The facility is supposed to be helping Mariah. If she was making progress, then Tessa should have been given some encouraging news. Instead, Tessa is left with once again the impression that it's over. She throws herself into Daniel's arms without much thought as to what all this is doing to him. Poor Daniel cares about Tessa. He's not made of stone. Is he supposed to just be the best friend she can lean on until Mariah finally comes around? His heart will get broken all over again. This story has had a few starts and stops. We're hoping that it can wrap up. Either break up Mariah and Tessa once and for all or bring them back together.
