The Young and the Restless' Daily YAPP Recap, November 4: Y&R loves L.A. after all

Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:

What happened on The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless shifted several characters from Genoa City to Los Angeles. The story beats for Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) going to visit Noah (Lucas Adams), and Claire (Hayley Erin) going to L.A. around the same time that her friend Holden (Nathan Owens) was going to be there, so she could see the sights and find herself all ended up coinciding. They were brought together through the connection that Holden and Noah had to Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and her husband, Mitch (Roger Howarth), AKA Matt Clark. More characters, including Kyle (Michael Mealor), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), and Victoria (Amelia Heinle), made the scene as the stories unfolded. However, there was one "character" that we had hoped to see, but didn't until today. That was Los Angeles itself! How many times did we hear on Sex & the City that New York City (the show's setting) was another character on the show? Sure, we know budgets aren't what they were in soap opera land. (We didn't think that Y&R was going to spring for a location shoot in France last summer when many characters went to Nice, France, to Cane's Chateau.) But Y&R tapes in L.A.! Couldn't they just go out onto the studio balcony and capture some sights? The beautiful mountains? It turned out that yes, they could -- and did! Viewers saw Claire and Holden against the beautiful backdrop of Los Angeles just as her visit to Hollywood was wrapping up!
