Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

The greatest strength The Young and the Restless has is its long-running characters and the actors who've brought those roles to life for decades. Y&R is now treating its audience to another veteran with the return of Jill Foster Abbott, a character who has been around since the first year of the show. Fan favorite Jess Walton, who plays Jill, has come back to Y&R, and it's not just to sit in the background and wave! Jill has returned to the canvas as a key player in the ongoing Cane Ashby (AKA Aristole Dumas) drama. Cane may have a brand new story going on, but Y&R has not forgotten just how important Jill is to him. Right now, Jill is the most important character in Genoa City. If Cane does indeed have the Artificial Intelligence software that can destroy the major power players, someone is going to have to reach him and appeal to his better nature. Who better than the mother figure he came to love when he first came to town all those years ago? Even though we didn't see her with him, the show's writers established that Jill spent time with Colin, Cane's late father, in his final days. Even though that relationship was revisited off-screen, it's likely going to play into Jill's current story with Cane. Throw in the dynamic of Billy feeling left out, and you've got one compelling drama!
