The Young and the Restless: Does Billy want Phyllis to steal the AI program so he can use it against Newman Enterprises?

On Monday's episode of The Young and the Restless, Jack seemed suspicious of Billy's motives regarding the AI program that they're hoping to steal back from Victor. We could practically see the wheels turning in Jack's mind. Is he afraid that Billy's true motive is to use the AI program to destroy Newman Enterprises?

Brothers at odds on The Young and the Restless

Jack (Peter Bergman) looked like he was fighting off a migraine on Monday's episode of The Young and the Restless as a sinister thought entered his mind. He didn't come right out and say what that thought was, but it was pretty clear to us. He's wondering what Billy (Jason Thompson) plans to do with the AI program if they do (miraculously) manage to steal it back from Victor (Eric Braeden). Does Billy intend to destroy the program, as Jack does? Or is Billy hoping to use the AI to wipe out Newman Enterprises and Newman Media?

We can't really blame Jack for being a little concerned. After all, Billy has always wanted revenge against Victor for buying Chancellor Industries from his mother, Jill (Jess Walton), when Billy wanted so badly to run it himself.

Billy looked at Jack angrily. He knows Jack doesn't fully believe that he wants to destroy the AI. It looks like another battle between the Abbott brothers is on the horizon, which would be a shame, because it's nice to see them getting along. They've gone through so many ups and downs over the years over Billy's volatile behavior that it isn't funny. Besides, Billy has been making so much progress lately. He seems much more at peace with himself when he isn't in revenge mode. It would be a shame to see him backslide now.

Billy will lose Sally if he uses the AI against Victor

Billy knows that if he reverts to his former ways and seeks revenge against Victor, then his relationship with Sally (Courtney Hope) will be at risk. Sally wants to believe that he's a changed man.

We've been getting a couple of foreshadowings that Billy just might go back to his vengeful ways. On the Christmas Eve episode of The Young and the Restless, Sally told Victoria (Amelia Heinle) that Billy reminds her of her father and the difficult times she went through with him throughout her childhood. He constantly made promises to her that he never kept. She said that's why she needs to believe that what she has with Billy is real and that he won't revert back to his former ways.

Adam warned Sally that Billy would never change

In another episode, Adam (Mark Grossman) cautioned Sally not to believe that Billy has changed. He warned her that Billy would always go back to his old ways. We certainly hope Adam is wrong, because, just like Sally, we want to believe that Billy has changed for the better.

It's been so nice to see this calmer version of him that we've been getting of late, and we want it to continue. We want Billy to have a win. We want his relationship with Sally to continue to grow. Let's see Abbott Communications succeed. It would be a shame if the Y&R writers upend all of that and take him back to the obsessed man he used to be, always wanting to score a win against the Mustache.

Don't bother, Billy. It isn't worth it. You have a great life right now with Sally and Abbott Communications. Embrace that and forget your feud with Victor. Leave it in the past, where it belongs.
