The Young and the Restless' Kyle and Claire aren't moving in together, and here's how we know

On The Young and the Restless, Genoa City’s resident Romeo and Juliet have been toying with the idea of moving in together. But we don’t think it’s ever going to happen, thanks to some clues dropped recently.

On The Young and the Restless, Claire (Hayley Erin) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) have been talking about moving in together. Kyle insists he just can’t get enough of his girlfriend, and Claire thinks it would be good to be able to be under one roof, and not both living with family. But there have been some comments lately that lead us to be pretty sure that this couple is never going to cohabitate like they daydream about.

Where to live

Claire and Kyle have discussed a few times where they think they should move to. Claire wants somewhere new and fresh. Kyle just wants anything and doesn’t seem to listen. A few times now, Claire has gotten more than a little irritated with her beau for not hearing her. She does not want to move in with his family, she wants a new place for them to call their own and start fresh. Kyle really ticked her off when he went looking for places on his own, and her opinion didn’t matter. If she wanted to live with a guy like that, she’d stay with Victor.

Victor Newman

Victor’s an issue for this couple, and will continue to be one until they break up. But Claire doesn’t seem to get the problem: Victor will continue to attack the Abbotts, and if she becomes part of the family, he’ll be attacking her. He can’t explain that without exposing how he’s got moles in Kyle’s company, and if he succeeds, Kyle won’t be able to afford the rent. It’s better for Victor that Claire moves on from, not in with, Kyle.

Victor also affects Kyle and Claire’s relationship without even lifting a finger. Every time Kyle rushes Claire to move in early or pressures her in some way, she wonders if he’s using her to bother Victor. Having that concern isn’t a green flag for a healthy, trusting relationship. But the fear of Victor’s wrath is real. Claire’s family members have been warning her, and now Kyle’s mom, too. The people who know Victor better than anyone have been clear, she’s poking a bear and she’s not equipped for the aftermath.

Summer Newman heard that her two favorite employees were leaving the company, and she didn’t wait for their two-week notice. She got up from the table, called her parents to meet her at Society to say goodbye, made travel arrangements to Europe, and raced over to the Abbott mansion to tell her son a quick goodbye — then left town indefinitely, only saying she would return when she’d found a replacement for Chelsea at Marchetti.

But Summer’s parting words to Kyle were to hold off on telling Harrison that he wanted to move in with Claire until she got back, in case their son had some feelings about that. But with Summer gone indefinitely, Kyle can’t move. At least, not with Claire.
