The Young and the Restless scored a home run when it brought back Victor and Nikki's much-missed ranch set. Next, Y&R won the Super Bowl when it gave the equally valuable Abbott home a makeover. To use another (the last, we promise) sports metaphor, we'd like to see the show score a hat trick by paying tribute to another beloved set: the Chancellor mansion.
The Young and the Restless, feels like home

Most fans didn't take to Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki's (Melody Thomas Scott) new home, the one they moved into after Sharon (Sharon Case) burned down their original ranch.
Last year, Victor rectified that by surprising Nikki with a near replica of their beloved ranch. The one notable difference is that the entrance to the home is on the other side of the house. But, now, there's a stairway for characters to descend and a door to slam if the scene calls for it!
Recently, Y&R had flashbacks to Victor and Nikk in their original home, and when the scene dissolved back to the present, one really couldn't see any major differences between the two ranches.
Next, Diane (Susan Walters) gave the Abbott mansion a much-needed facelift. She modernized the home without taking away any of its "old school" charm. Just as Victor redoing the ranch was a gift to Nikki, the redone Abbott home also had a story point. Diane truly felt like a member of the Abbott clan once response to her redecorating was a hit. Granted, Billy (Jason Thompson) needed a little time.)
Queen Chancellor

Katherine Chancellor (the late, great Jeanne Cooper) is no longer with us, but her mansion is. She left half of the home to Esther (Kate Linder), so we're guessing the former maid still lives there in between shifts at Crimson Lights. Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James) live in the home. Jill (Jess Walton) could stay there when she's in town. Ditto, Nina (Tricia Cast).
Y&R wisely installed a portrait of Katherine so that characters could talk to it when they wanted to speak to the duchess. The top-rated soap opera does such a great job of keeping familiar faces on our screens. They also give us familiar sets with the Newman and Abbott homes, Victor's office, and Crimson Lights. They could make the show even more familiar by showcasing Kay's mansion.
