On The Young and the Restless, Joshua Morrow came in as the always supportive, strong Nick Newman. This week, the actor had to run the gamut of emotions. For that, he earned the honors of Soap Central’s Performer of the Week for The Young and the Restless.

Morrow had a hell of a week; not only was his son in the hospital after a car crash, but it turns out that there was an eyewitness who saw another vehicle involved, and that he was run off the road. This turns an incident into potentially a deliberate crime and an attempt on his son's life. Morrow gave us an entirely believable Nick, holding in his feelings and being that pillar of strength for Sharon —not an easy task if anyone has had to do this before —but Morrow gave us a window into how that looks. Sharon was dealing with a lot as well, and an event that reminded her of the time when Cassie was in the hospital. Morrow’s Nick was there for her, and he showed us all those powerful emotions that would have been boiling under the surface yet kept in check, for a time.

We then got to see another side of Nick Newman, the one that lets that burst of rage out and going into protective mode in different way. The reactions to learning that Sharon had seen Matt Clark brought back memories of all the horrible things that man had been part of and done. Morrow's portrayal in that moment told us everything: the complexities of the situation, the disbelief, and then the solution, to go and get answers. And answers he sought, instead of finding Sienna and questioning her, he ended up face-to-face with the man himself, Matt Clark. Morrow immediately showed us what happens with all that pent-up anger, emotion, and then letting off the brakes. In one of the more realistic confrontations on Y&R, Morrow spun Howarth’s Matt Clark around and decked him. Say it with actions first was Nick's go-to this time.

Bravo to Joshua Morrow for taking fans through this mind-blowing storyline with a realistic reaction to a horrible situation.
